We began homeschooling our oldest in January. There are so many options out there when it comes to homeschooling and it can be completely overwhelming. I decided to look up a program that we used previously, Time4Learning. They just so happened to have created a High School curriculum. I like the format and the fact that it covers the 4 main subjects that kids need. I supplement this curriculum with other offline sources including language, guitar, spelling, etc. Time4Learning didn't require a huge learning curve either. It boasts ease of use and it truly is. All I did was show my child his login information and he went right to work. It's great even if you start in the middle of the school year. You can start your child at any place where they may have left off in previous studies. I couldn't recommend it more and look forward to completing this year and the years to come with Time4Learning. Please reach out to me if you have any additional questions. Also go to time4learning.com to sign up today!

What's Your Story Mornin' Glory?
Odd and adventurous, life is. If anyone would have asked me when I was young(er) if I would have taken the path that I did, I would have said "NO WAY!" I mean I was going to be a radio DJ after all, duh. But through it all...through it all.... Sorry, had to take a musical intermission. Back to the story. I don't know if I mentioned that on top of being OBSSESSED with shoes, I also LOVE to sing.
Ok, moving on. We all have a story to tell. Just like the bible, our stories vary. There are stories filled with betrayal, murder, lust, lies, etc. My favorite stories, just like a great movie finale, end in V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! That's God's favorite too, beloved.
There are many facets to my story so I'll share a bit at a time as the Lord directs. I want to make one thing clear. I am not ashamed of my story. God created my story just for me. No one else, no matter how similar, has had the exact same story. I make no apologies for my story. It is unique. If my story offends you, take it up with God. I have dealt with the ramifications for the choices I have made. I have repented. I have paid my dues.
The goal in telling my story is to help others. There are so many times that we find ourselves caught in a trap where it seems there is no way out. There is. There always is. I urge you to always, always, always ask for help when you feel yourself stumbling (or being tripped). Ask a friend. Ask a Pastor. Ask a counselor. Ask God. God always makes a way.
I'm going to need help here. I ask that you come alongside me, I ask that you share in my victories. I ask that you share your story. I ask that you find your voice.

Feels Like an R.E.M. Song
You ever had one of those days that was, well, a Monday? Ironically (or not so much), it just happens to be Monday. I think to be human, still connected to the world & also to bring the confirmation that we still feel, there's a Monday every now and then. One of the things that I have had to come to grips with is that I'm not perfect (shocking, I know! Gasp!) and neither is life. Although I have hope & faith, we all get a case of the Mondays sometimes. Life is constantly moving for all of us. Some of us choose to participate, some of us don't. It doesn't cease to be, however. One of the things that just drives me INSANE is seeing people fumble through life, (insert Schaub pun here), not making use of their talents or time on earth. None of us are guaranteed another day so why not give today all you have and make something of it? Or you could just sit on the couch continuing to watch NCIS reruns. I pray I make it to that place quickly where I don't have to stress or worry about what anyone else does, doesn't do, doesn't want to do, etc. I wish I were built with the ability to just let go. I did mention that I'm not perfect, right? I am a work in progress.

Lyrical Killa or Thrilla
My husband and kids have the ability to crack me up like no other. They are all gifted with the natural ability to freestyle with any given tune or song. Me? Not so much. I am creative, but not with lyrics. Saul would beg to differ however, as he calls me the lyrical killer. When it come to speaking, I have to practice and think ahead of time what to say. I used to have a difficult time even getting in front of people to speak. It's funny how God places you in positions on purpose to refine you and polish you. He even puts you in position to prepare you for your calling by requiring you to step out into uncomfortable places. Thank you God for loving us so much that you do equip us for the road ahead.

Quiet on the Set!
So I am a woman on a mission. As if that wasn't blatantly obvious, right? This week's mission is creating new videos for my team members and myself. I met an awesome, totally righteous dude recently with a mission of his own. If you haven't met Ronny (Ronald Earl Wilsher), I recommend that you run, not walk, over to him. He has a gift of motivation and awakening your creative side. He challenged me to just get a video out there. Tell the world what my calling is. Challenge accepted. I spend so much time trying to perfect anything that I do that I miss the greater purpose. You know how it is ladies.....hair won't do, look too fat, smile is crooked and the list goes on and on if we let it. It's time to stop the madness and step out with the confidence God has given me in who He created me to be. I am wonderfully and fearfully made and so are you. We are the apples of His eye and that's a pretty good shape to be. :D

Inside My Head
Lucky you! You get to peer into the mind of The Amber Carrillo. Don't be afraid. I promise it won't hurt a bit. You might even learn something. The items that are at the forefront in my mind daily are God, my family, Real Estate, the infamous Fergie (if you don't know who this is, you soon will), my friends, my future, my calling. That's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm busy. I'm also innovative, creative, driven & a technology junkie. I am a seeker of knowledge and the deep (things of God). I appreciate people who know their God given purpose and run after it, not letting anything stand in their way. Let's connect.
